This is My Artistry, This is My Life - Ralphael Alexander
Project Description
Much of the production, was relatively simple. I decided to go very basic, because in my own personal opinion; much of the synthesizers and midi samples, didn't need much. so I kept it light with a few EQ's and compressions, mainly on my vocals, the sampler track and the harmony.
My tempo I decided to change. I went from 120 BPM, to 90 BPM. This change I felt incorporated more of a relaxed vibe, I have felt that, my track two was a bit rushed. So I decided to go back over, slow my tempo; and re-examine and rearrange my melody to fit, more with my harmony chords; and the overall tone progression of my project. I felt in the end, this reworking and restructuring of my project, was a lot more musically fit. Thematically, I did restructure my harmony chords. I slowed them, and made them more lengthy to provide more of a long vibration. I left my bass line the same, to provide a core structure of unison to my project; even though each 16 bar section is supposed to have variation.
The key I chose was C, it was the relative major to G minor and I decided to stay within that court structure. As stated before my harmony and melody I restructured. My melody is more concrete to the harmony chords as I did decide to try and line them up a bit more than the first time. My harmony is more elongated giving more of a vibration and rumble which I felt was great to the slowed tone and tempo that I decided to go with.
I decided to do a new tag on my audio. I decided to add more variation, more lyrics, and instead of a singular type refrain subject. So I decided to elaborate a bit more on a topic of time and mental structure. My parameters were pretty basic, I use the same set up for track two that I recorded line to record my new vocal making sure I did not peek past 6DB, ensuring that I used a noise gate, compression, and some EQ. These processes I felt will live in clearing and taking my vocal to give it a more substantial presence.
I decided to go with a dynamic processer and Time based affect as naturally seen fit. Incorporating each one as called for track by track as I decided to mix and add processes and as my mix evolved.
