Sound Design Demo Reel
This is a portfolio project I made while I was gaining my audio production degree. This demo reel consists of various sourced and created sounds; that I myself created and/or edited, to fit the various needs on screen. This project was engaging, challenging, and full of new opportunities to learn and enhance my craft as a whole. In this demo reel, the main player "Volund" is coming out of thought; to approach an enemy outside of his smithy. Which then goes into a video reel of gameplay, where we see Volund takes on the enemy outside. For my title intro and outro, I layered in a low ambient sound with the edited sounds of me whispering religious text. In the cinematic, some of my self recorded Foley includes: the chair creak, Volund's outfit, including toolbelt, leather garments, and steps for walking, the door hinges as it opens, the impact has Volund opens the door, and the various metal shards hitting the ground. in the gameplay video, some of the sourced and edited sounds include: the weapons, the background and ambient noise, the mud, broken stone, bodily impact sounds. I went for a sense of realism while still trying to incorporate the fantasy world at hand. Please listen, and enjoy.
